Financial Planning

Hello Friends of the Keene YPN,

I run a financial planning practice based out of Boston. Originally from Walpole, NH, I began my career as an advisor at our flagship office in September 2006. I would like to introduce myself to you, a KYPN member, as a resource for financial advice.

30% of my clients are under the age of 30. I've noticed a common thread among my young professional clients. They all are very proactive people and understand the importance of saving, and saving early.

Setting good habits while you are young and beginning your career has many advantages:

Railroad event

We had another fun and successful event last night! I met a lot of new people and it was great to see so many new faces. It was also nice to see many of the people I met back at our first event at Margaritas back in June. Thanks go out to Randy Filiault for hosting our event at the Railroad Tavern; and also to Bad Dawgs for surprising us with some interesting, but very tasty hot dogs. Who knew hot dogs and jalapeños worked so well together?

Introduction of Heidi Hale

I'd like to introduce myself as the new Sales Associate at the E.F. Lane Hotel. I formerly worked for the E.F. Lane Hotel upon their opening in 2001 as a Front Desk Manager. I moved to FL for a short time and since I've returned I've been trying to get back into the professional workforce. I am very excited to be back on board here at the hotel and am excited to get to know, and build relationships with each one of you. I look forward to meeting each of you at the next KYPN event at the Railroad.

Pumpkin Fest

So I'm looking forward to pumpkin fest, if we don't beat Boston this year I think I may cry. Well, probably not cry, maybe tear up... nevertheless I'll be inconsolable for at least 5 minutes. If you haven't already carved a pumpkin then get on it and I'll see you at the festival!

Last month we had an excellent turn out at La Carreta, and I don't know about you but I sure had a lot of fun. I hope to see everyone again November 7th at the Railroad Tavern! Don't forget to bring a friend or coworker! The more people we get the more fun it will be.

plannning meeting

I have had technological trouble posting and have been out of town the last few days therefore I missed Monday's meeting. I am still very interested in doing what is needed please let me know

Keene Chamber Golf Tournament

Did anyone else get a chance to participate in the golf tournament yesterday? It was a very fun time for all. Has there been any interest in a golf event for the KYPN? If so, I was in one recently that was made more for the fun, and had really interesting contests, like a worst drive hole, and a 1 club hole, etc... It was funny and a lot of fun at the same time.

The August social was a fun time and I look forward to the next meeting. It would be nice to use this site to informally meet people and then get formally introduced through the events.

July Event

I am very excited about our second event on July 11, 2007. I am confident it will be even more successful. Than the first.

As a quick review for those of you who missed it. We held our grand first event at Margaritas in Keene. We had nearly one hundred people attend and it was an excellent networking event. I personally used all of the business cards I had that evening.

As a review we started with a guess the celebrity game as an Ice Breaker (seems cheesy, but it was really fun.) I was a big cheater giving everyone hints ;)

Great first event (and thank you to our committee)...

WOW! What a great first event! You never know going into an event how many people will really show up (in spite of the 150 registrations so far on the website). We had nearly 100 people last night (somewhere between 85 and 95 is my actual best guess) and people seemed to have a great time. I'm not one for ice breakers but the celebrity name contest was actually a great deal of fun (despite having the supreme joy of being assigned a cartoon character).

It's here!

After all the planning and organizing, I can't believe our first event is tomorrow! I am very excited and hope you are too! Remember to bring your business cards - there will be a raffle, not to mention you'll want to hand them out as you meet and network with new people!

See you tomorrow!

Registrations Pouring In (and how to invite more friends)...

We've been a bit blown away by the number of registrations in the Keene area over the weekend and the early part of this week. We now have almost 70 registered members in only a week or so of the site being online, but....we can do more!

If you're a registered member of the site (and logged in) , you can send invitations to your friends anytime by clicking on "Invite your friends and colleagues." Send an invite to all of your 20 or 30 something friends so they can participate as well!
