Keene, NH – Working Families Win will host three workshops on political participation on September 3, 10, and 17, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at its office in Keene.
“The series offers real skill development for area residents working toward positive change in the community,” said Jaime Contois, the organization’s New Hampshire Coordinator. The workshops will be led by experts from the NH Women’s Lobby, NH for Healthcare, Granite State Progress, The America Votes Coalition and Working Families Win, covering topics such as techniques to strengthen your political voice, strategies to educate voters and increase voter turnout. Each of the two-hour hands-on workshops is free and open to the public with optional dinner at 6pm.
September 3 - Using Your Voice, Getting Heard: Building Real Clout for Community Advocates
What you’ll learn: Participants will learn how to best advocate for the issues they care about through time-proven strategies to influence decision makers. Building Real Clout will give you practical, hands-on skills.
Who should attend: All community members who want to hold their elected officials accountable on issues that impact their families and communities.

September 10 - From Interest to Action: Getting People to Take the Next Step
What you’ll learn: How to educate and turn out voters in New Hampshire who care about health care, the economy, education, the environment, retirement security and the war. Participants will learn the strategy and science behind building effective change in a critical time. The training will have two parts: Voter Contact - methods of effective voter contact, and Volunteer Recruitment - how to attract and motivate other people to get involved.
Who should attend: Members of the community interested in getting more involved with local voter education campaigns, those that are already involved but want to learn more, community leaders building their own volunteer and education programs.

September 17 - Choosing Your Message and Hitting It Home!
What you’ll learn: Join Granite State Progress as they share techniques on how to speak persuasively on the issues we care about in order to reach a broader audience, communicate with our elected officials, and reform public policy.
Who should attend: People who want to become more effective communicators with the media, members of their organizations or people in their community.
